The earliest versions of this work started out as a very melancholic, stripped piano "harmonic" tune which intended to be a "Goodbye" piece to see the listener off at the end of the album. This clearly did not work out. As the layers began to grow, so did the song's "bitterness". Parts were replayed and adjusted to fit the new mood of the song. My final addition was the song's ending bit. I really like that part. I think that may mature and grow into something different someday. The very first version of this song is also quite touching and worthy of being re-purposed for a future project.
